It still echoes in the halls of the Masonic Temple- "The Detroit Pistoffs are the 2006 Detroit Derby Girls Champions!" September 29, 2006 was a night of pure Detroit sports excitement. The Pistoffs started our "Sweet and Condensed Season" the team with the most rookies, a skater slated to serve in Iraq, a mysterious and possibly derby-ending injury, and the most to prove. Through it all the Pistoffs kept their attitude one of team solidarity and hard work, and in the end they pulled a classic come from behind effort to win 121-113. Congratulations Pistoffs!
